3 Cold Dishes’ Marks Strong Debut for Burna Boy‑Produced Film with ₦24.6 M Weekend
Lagos – The thriller 3 Cold Dishes, executive-produced by Burna Boy through his Spaceship Films banner, opened to a weekend box-office haul of ₦24.6 million, showing strong audience interest.

The film spans Nigeria, Benin and Côte d’Ivoire and tells the story of three women—Esosa, Fatouma and Giselle—who, after being trafficked as teenagers, reunite two decades later to exact revenge on their exploiters.
Directed by Nigerian filmmaker Asurf Oluseyi, the movie is split into three chapters, narrated by Mama Janice and a journalist, providing a layered view of the women’s past and present.
Shot in CinemaScope and presented in English and French with subtitles, the £1 million budget production travels through Lagos’ urban backdrop, the deserts of Benin and Côte d’Ivoire’s coast, reflecting its pan-African ambition.
The cast features Osas Ighodaro, Fat Toure and Maud Guerard in lead roles, alongside veteran actor Wale Ojo, bringing strong performances to a story about survival, justice and the cost of freedom.
The film premiered on 3 October in London and opened the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in Lagos on 2 November. It is now rolling out theatrically across 26 African countries with screenings planned in France, the U.S. and Canada.
The strong opening weekend demonstrates that African audiences are embracing high-quality productions with cross-border themes, and the film may mark a turning point for pan-African storytelling.
