Drama in Court: Nnamdi Kanu Confronts Judge, Stops His Own Trial [VIDEO]

There was serious tension in court on Thursday after detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, stood up and openly challenged the judge during his trial. What was meant to be a normal court session quickly turned dramatic as Kanu insisted the case could not continue.

In a video now trending online, Kanu is seen speaking directly to the presiding judge, Justice Omotosho, questioning why the court wanted to move forward when he hadn’t filed his final written address, a major part of any defence.

Kanu didn’t hold back. He argued that the prosecution was trying to rely on a repealed law, something he believes makes the entire trial unfair and baseless.

He said, “Which law states that you can charge me on a repealed law? Show me. Omotosho, where is the law? Any judgment declared in this Court is complete rubbish.”

He grew even more frustrated as he continued, calling out what he described as an attempt to force him to waive his right to a final address.

“You don’t know the law,” he said. “Show me where it says you can waive the right to a final address. Omotosho, show me the law.”

People present in court said the moment shifted the whole mood, you could feel the tension. Kanu made it clear he wasn’t ready to continue the trial until the proper legal steps were followed.

The video has since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians reacting to the courtroom drama and weighing in on both sides of the argument.
