Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has publicly accepted a long-standing celebrity boxing challenge reportedly initiated by show promoter Paul Okoye (popularly known as Paulo), setting the stage for a potential high-profile fight involving fellow actress Iyabo Ojo.

In a post shared on her official Instagram page on Sunday, Anjorin confirmed her willingness to step into the ring, referencing an earlier proposal made by Paulo years ago suggesting a boxing match between her and Ojo.
According to her statement, she wrote:
“Paul O, I saw your post a few years ago calling me and Iyabo for a ring fight. As at today, 3rd May 2026, I accept your challenge.”
She further escalated the proposal by suggesting a preliminary bout involving Paulo and Chief Lawal, followed by a match between herself and Iyabo Ojo the next day.
Beyond accepting the challenge, Anjorin introduced additional conditions, calling for all parties involved to publicly declare their assets and achievements with verifiable documentation. Her remarks also included indirect references to financial status comparisons, which have since generated renewed reactions online and reignited discussions around the long-standing tension between both actresses.
The feud between Lizzy Anjorin and Iyabo Ojo has been ongoing for several years, marked by public exchanges, allegations, and legal actions. In 2025, Ojo reportedly filed a ₦1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin, though it was later struck out on procedural grounds. Ojo had also indicated intentions to pursue further legal steps at the time.
In 2024, Paulo Okoye first proposed the idea of a celebrity boxing match between both actresses, with a ₦10 million prize attached to the bout. The suggestion gained attention but did not materialize then.
The renewed attention comes amid a growing wave of celebrity boxing events in Nigeria’s entertainment space. Recently, a bout between streamer Carter Efe and singer Portable held in Lagos drew significant public interest, further fueling conversations around entertainment-based boxing matches.
As of now, neither Iyabo Ojo nor Paulo Okoye has issued an official response to Anjorin’s latest acceptance.
